There are two sections of the IAT/SIA in Greenland, one crossing the Eastern Settlement in Eric the Red’s Land near Greenland’s southern tip and the second 800 miles to the north (and 200 miles above the Arctic Circle) crossing the Nuussuaq Peninsula on Greenland’s west coast. Both of these sections are (obviously) remote and require careful planning to hike.
Length:
Eric the Red section: 46km / 29mi.
Nuussuaq section: 110km / 68mi.
Note: Length may vary depending on which spur trails or alternate routes are followed.
For more information on the Eric the Red section visit the Blue Ice Explorer website.
For more information on the Nuussuaq section please contact IAT GL Coordinator René Kristensen.
