In Newfoundland, after crossing the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the IAT/SIA resumes at the Port-aux-Basques Ferry Terminal and heads northeast along the Long Range Mountains. Adventurous hikers can explore numerous side trails into extremely remote and scenic areas such as the Lewis Hills and Gros Morne National Park. The Newfoundland section of the trail ends at L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site.
